Welcome. As you already know, we are a boutique firm. For everyone’s sake—yours, ours and our clients’—finding the right cultural fit is essential. We’re glad you’re here to explore that potential.
Basics. At present, we are seeking someone who:
Has a demonstrated talent for the investment side of the business
Enjoys clients and serving them
Brings a business-building mentality
Is committed to continually improving
Understands the inherent problems of big firms and their inherent pressures to raise fees … and recognizes what we’re doing as a breath of fresh air
message from Frank
Things You Need to Know. Here’s a video from Frank, reflecting on four questions we ask ourselves every day. If you’re considering a potential fit, it’s absolutely critical you want to build something different.
You need to understand the four questions we ask ourselves every day:
Pursuing excellence
Are we practicing in the best way possible, not just the common industry way?
Are we holding ourselves and our colleagues accountable to do our best work for clients?
Honoring relationships
Are we truly listening to our clients to understand what is important to them?
Are we treating our clients fairly?
our dedication to clients
Client Bill of Rights. Our About Us page features a set of points we call the Client Bill of Rights. The name is appropriate because each client DESERVES every one of these:
Comprehensive financial planning
Investment management that's truly personalized
Service that goes above and beyond to the highest standard of care
Peace of mind through knowing their financial situation is monitored effectively
Portfolios designed to reflect their unique comfort level with risk
A straightforward understanding of their financial plan, investments, and all associated costs
Timely input to help make important financial decisions
Get to Know Us By Knowing How We Position Ourselves. If you haven’t already, please take our Prospective Client Survey, linked below. In a small number of words, it conveys a great deal about what’s important to us.
Investment Interest & Talent
Paramount Importance. It’s to everyone’s benefit for us to add additional investment selection talent to our team. We are not prescribing exactly what that looks like with respect to background.
Investment Philosophy. We are seeking to extend our capacity to implement our existing investment philosophy — not replace it with something else.
Technical Matters. We are an Orion shop. Kevin Stillman on our team is a former Orion employee and one of the industry’s most talented professionals in the area of implementing customizations efficiently across client portfolios.
Our technical expertise makes it possible for us to provide the high levels of customization—not to mention service—that we do while keeping our fees very competitive compared to what most clients pay elsewhere. This is absolutely key to who we are as a firm. If it moves you, that’s wonderful.
BUILDING THE FIRM MEANS BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS
Are You Hungry to Find Clients? Just above, we stressed the importance of investment acumen and interest … but that doesn’t mean relationships and relationship-building aren’t equally important. Is developing and serving clients truly what you want to do?
How We Work: Some Practical Matters
Office in Carmel. All of us but Kevin are located in the Indianapolis area. We regularly work in our Carmel office—particularly when meeting clients.
We Also Work Remotely. We also work from home. This hybrid approach has worked well for us as a firm. Of course, it only works when everyone works hard … and takes steps to ensure meaningful collaboration.
